Ingredients

  • PIE SHELL:
  • Vanilla wafers
  • melted butter
  • PIE FILLING:
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • MERINGUE:
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 TBSP sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix the needed amount of crushed vanilla wafers and 1 TBS melted butter together
  2. Press wafer crumbs into a pie plate and edge with whole vanilla wafers making the pie shell
  3. Mix the pie ingredients and beat until thickened.
  4. Pour into crust/shell
  5. Beat egg whites until they stand in firm peaks
  6. Fold in 3 TBSP sugar
  7. Top pie with meringue
  8. Brown in oven
  9. Refrigerate until time to serve
