Cream Cheese Biscuits

Down-home biscuits with a touch of sweet cream taste

Recalls memories of Grandmother’s breakfast table with a touch of your generation added in.

Ingredients

  • 3 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1-1/2 C milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 4 Tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450*
  2. Add dry ingredients to bowl and mix well
  3. Cut in butter and cream cheese with a pastry cutter or fork until it resembles a coarse meal
  4. Stir in milk until well combined
  5. Turn out dough onto a floured surface
  6. Knead about 5 times until dough comes together
  7. Press dough into a rectangle about 3/4 inch thick
  8. Cut into 12 squares
  9. Melt butter and generously cover tops or biscuits
  10. Place biscuits almost touching onto a parchment baking sheet
  11. Bake about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
  12. If baking in Ninja oven, decrease temp by 25-35 degrees and cut the cooking time to 9 minutes
